MEMBERSHIP

Membership in volunteer fire and ambulance departments in the Back Mountain, and around the United States is at a all time low. The number of emergencies we respond to has steadily grown. This may result in slower response time and maybe the loss of some volunteer departments that protect you, if you decide not to help. To become a member of the SHAVERTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT, you must be at least 14 years of age (with parental permission and working papers up to age 18) You can join as a social member or firefighter. Both are needed and are always welcome. If you want to become a firefighter or just drive one of our apparatus, there is a place for you, as long as you complete the necessary training set forth by the department. As a junior firefighter (ages 14-18) you are limited to certain activities, but you can train so when you reach the age 18, you will be able to participate in fire fighting activities. There is a place for everyone in the fire service. Stop by the fire hall on Monday nights, call and leave a message or ask a member for an application!
